Oh yeah, and although I haven’t been to this spot, you mention about how some of the things look intentionally placed and that it’s kind of “artsy,” apparently the placed was used for an artists’ colony for a while after it was sold, maybe some of what you’re seeing is remnants from that?

Just a correction in your opening comments… Winona owned the Murphy Ranch (her maiden name was Winona Murphy), she inherited it from her father, who was a wealthy manufacturer. Not sure how much convincing her husband she needed to do to make improvements, as it was apparently her own money from all the accounts I’ve read, but realistically I suppose it would be a good idea that you and your spouse both agree unless you want a divorce. Anyway, my main point was that the she was the owner of the ranch from the outset, and quite wealthy herself.

It’s all good.

I’ve kinda come around to the conclusion that I’m not going to waste any more tax dimes, transportation miles or internet posts on this problem. I could frankly care less if the the god fearing selfish pricks of Texas ever harvest another bale of cotton. And I’m looking forward to watching the anti-science American Taliban choking on dust while they pray for relief.

I live in the neighborhood by Santa Monica College and atteneded my first game in years last week. I was absolutely impressed by their head coach… the way his kids played with class and how they conducted themselves after a nail biter of a game. It’s a big change from games of the past. It’s nice to see a great program is in place at SMC. This college must be on the rise as the basketball team is doing much better as well.
