MLB All Star week kicks off with the first ever beach event named the Capitol One All-star Oceanfront, held at the Santa Monica Pier and beach on Friday, July 15, and continues on throughout the weekend.

The MLB created the free event for Los Angeles residents and baseball fans far and wide who may not be able to afford to attend the already costly All Star game taking place on Tuesday, July 19 at Dodger stadium.

The event included games on the beach with popular MLB Mascots from teams across the nation, batting cages, pitching mound with speed recording, and much more for all ages involved.
