Corsairs Soccer Kicks Off Season With Victories

The Santa Monica College Corsairs Soccer teams kicked off September with soaring performances from both the Men and Women athletes. Both teams took home the game, beating the El Camino College Warriors by 3 to 2, and 2 to 0, respectively.

The matches took place on September 2, on home grounds at the Corsair Field. An enthusiastic crowd gathered on home grounds, baking underneath the scorching midday heat, eagerly watching their teams play. The Women’s match was played first, followed by the Men’s.

After four attempted shots this season, Women's Corsair Soccer Player Mathilda Isakkon (6) finally scores her first goal, alongside another goal from midfielder Ali Alban (10), bringing the Women’s team to victory, beating El Camino 2 to 0. For the Men’s match, Jose Urdiano (5), Jason Moreno (12), and Alexander Lalor (24) each scored one goal, while El Camino scored two and brought it to a close match of 3 to 2.
