Montana Avenue Art Walk

The annual “Montana Ave Art Walk” took place on Sep. 27th, 2025, an event that brought the public live music, a vibrant wine garden, art workshops, and several blocks of charming booths featuring vendors and artists showcasing their products.

The atmosphere was optimistic and relaxed, with the public strolling along with their families and friends. Pets and kids dominated the energy of the environment, providing plenty of laughs and cute moments throughout the event. Children had free space to interact with the artwork on display and play around, while pets enjoyed the attention given to them by the people attending the Art Walk.

Ian Brooks, a resident of the neighborhood, said that he loves the Art Walk  because “The streets are full of art, love, and wonderful families.” Brooks said that he loves seeing the community come together to enjoy good music and delicious food.

Along with the entire length of the street, there were great restaurants and shops, where the public could grab food while enjoying the event.

Art Workshops were offered to attendees of all ages, with a majority being children; however, adults also participated. Ally Mathews, an instructor for one of the workshops, talked about the differences between children and adults when attending these workshops.

Mathews said, “Although most of the times kids show themselves more freely creative, sometimes the opposite occurs, and curiously, children get more pragmatic with the details and colors, while adults get more free to play with the elements.”

She said that her hopes for her project being present at the “Montana Ave Art Walk” are to help people find peace and confidence to express themselves. Mathews believes that participating in the workshops with her PAINT : LAB business can help the community better understand the importance of supporting artists and their work.

The aspiration to obtain more support for the artistic community, with the visibility that the event can provide, also stemmed from the vendors and artists showcasing their work at the booths. The atmosphere of a welcoming environment surrounded Montana Avenue, especially from the small businesses that had the opportunity to showcase creativity, expression, and purpose in various art segments, including photography, paintings, and craft works made from ceramic, wood, glass, crochet, and knitting.

Allisson LaCombe, one of the artists, was excited, saying, "This is my very first event where I’m showing my work to strangers, before here, only people I know and their close friends knew my pieces.”

LaCombe was positively surprised by the reactions, and she said that her inspirations for natural fiber products for home decor and ready-to-wear fashions are mainly textures, colors, and anything that has a meaningful purpose in her life.

The “Montana Ave Art Walk” allowed artists and the public to form a sincere connection, bringing them together to help understand the artistic community. The event provided an open space for people of all ages to engage with art creations and music through visual and practical experiences.
