The Santa Monica College Corsairs continued their win streak by beating the Cypress College Chargers and the Lassen College Cougars despite a heat advisory. SMC is now on a five-game win streak and continues its dominance.

SMC started the day by facing the Chargers. As temperatures began to soar, SMC struggled to gain control against the Chargers at the beginning of the matchup, but after the first set, the Corsairs found their footing and used the heat to their advantage, defeating the Chargers 5-0.

After a break, the Corsairs faced the Cougars. Already used to the heat, they gained an advantage over the Cougars and secured another 5-0 win to end the day.

“I think that the heat was another element that we haven't had to contend with, just getting acclimated to the heat, and being able to recover,” said Coach Christian Cammayo after the matches.

Santa Monica College will face Ventura College and Cuesta College at the Ventura Harbor Cove Courts on March 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., respectively.
