Student vet Jesse Randel wins Associated Students presidency by narrow margin

The students of Santa Monica College voted Jesse Randel as their new Associated Students president.Randel won with 452 votes, beating the nearest candidate Trae Smith by 10 votes, which was a 0.7 percent difference.

The general voting turnout was approximately 28 percent lower than last year with a total of 1291 voters. Director of Advocacy is vacant as there were no running candidates.

Student Trustee - Jonathan Eady - 765 votes

Vice-President - Steve Maldonado - 727 votes

Director Activities - Amber Winter - 696 votes

Director of Budget Management - Samuel Ross - 1110 votes

Director of Sustainability - Heather Haro - 1097 votes

Director of Publicity - Kishore Athreya - 1080 votes

Director of Instructional Support - Dilan Patel - 1077 votes

Director of Student Assistance - Abraham Paz - 1074 votes

Director of Community Relations - Aicha Conde - 1049 votes
