Men’s water polo plays two of four matches at Mt. San Antonio College.

The Corsairs’ men’s water polo team swam hard on the first day of the 45th Annual Mt. San Antonio College tournament, falling just short of winning both games.

The first matchup, against the Fullerton College Hornets, was a blowout, ending 15-7 in the Corsairs' favor. The offensive line-ups benefited from penalty calls, capitalizing on the 6-on-5 player advantages  they often found themselves in.

Game two, against the Crafton Hills College Roadrunners, was a nail-biter, with the final goal scored with less than a minute on the clock. The Roadrunners barely held off the Corsairs’ offense to win the game 8 to 7.

Corsairs Aquatics Director Brian Eskridge was disappointed, but understanding about the loss. “We were getting some second chances. We’re happy with the effort, but we just gotta clean up some things,” he said.

The Corsairs will play again on Sept. 16, against the El Camino College Warriors at noon, and against the Southwestern College Jaguars at 4:30.
