The first two weeks of open public hearings in President Trump’s impeachment inquiry have concluded in the U.S. House of Representatives. The hearings were held by the House Intelligence Committee, led by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

This Wednesday, the House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee will proceed over hearings focusing on the legal nature of possible abuse of power by President Donald Trump. As these proceedings move forward, the concept of the impeachment process hovers abstractly.

The investigations center on Trump's conduct with regard to Ukraine, specifically his July 25 phone call where he asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for political favor while at the same time withholding from Ukraine $400 million in congressionally appropriated military aid, which was only later released by the president due to political pressure.

“Giuliana’s a hand grenade who’s gonna blow everybody up,” said former White House National Security Advisor, John Bolton. Former White House advisor Fiona Hill, reportedly testified during the closed-door House impeachment hearings that Bolton made the comment to her.

With closed-door dress rehearsals complete, Wednesday marked the opening night performance of the third public impeachment procedure in American history.
