Giving Thanksgiving at SMC 2025
SMC is hosting their annual Giving Thanksgiving this week! Students can still get free Thanksgiving groceries today, Tuesday Nov. 25, outside of the bodega on main campus from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., all that you need is your student ID number. The program is also handing out $50 gift vouchers for Albertsons brand grocery stores as well as free socks and coats.
Proposition 50 Ballot Block Party
SMC held a Ballot Block Party event on Oct. 28 to spread awareness of the election as well as register voters. Students and staff could vote on site, as well as learn more about this years election.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and on Oct. 23 SMC’s Student Health Services set up a booth to provide students with statistics and information about breast cancer. They also showed how to perform a breast self examination. Corsair Managing Editor Mollie Bishop talked to Nurse Practitioner Kasiani Gountoumas to learn more.

Monday Oct. 13 is Indigenous Peoples Day in the United States. President Trump has recently issued a proclamation to "reclaim" the day, also known as Columbus Day, for the explorers legacy.
