The Broad Stage will now give viewers a behind-the-scenes look into their artists' creative process with "REVEAL: The Team's Reconstruction (Still Working But The Devil Might Be Inside)." The Broad Stage is a performance center with a reputation for presenting an extensive and impressive list of performances by local and world-renowned artists.

REVEAL is a three-episode digital series that uses Zoom Q&A sessions to discuss the production process of performances with the audience. Leading the first discussion is "The TEAM," a Brooklyn-based ensemble, that works to tell the American experience from all perspectives.

The TEAM's new performance, "Reconstruction (Still Working but the Devil Might Be Inside)," is a play that includes a live musical score written by 23 of The TEAM's own artists. The project explores thoughts surrounding whether intimacy should exist between white-identifying and Black-identifying people in an anti-Black America. The play's setting will switch from the Reconstruction era to the present, highlighting the contrast between the two.

Eric Bloom, Director of Artistic Planning at The Broad Stage, described the series as the introduction of who, what, and why behind performances. "We feel our job as presenters is to prepare our audience and our community for the work and provide context," Bloom said. "REVEAL is about introducing who the artists are that we're working with, what the project is we're going to be learning about, and not only why we are working with these artists but why the artists chose this content."

The first episode of REVEAL premiered on The Broad Stage's website on Thursday, May 6. It included a short documentary film and a live Zoom conversation about the production process of The TEAM's 2017 play "Primer for a Failed Superpower" — along with the lessons learned as they prepared for the "Reconstruction" presentation.

The second episode premiered Saturday, May 8, and is a peek into the role and impact of Process Chaplain Milta Vega-Cardona stepping into her educational role for The TEAM. It included a live interactive conversation between the audience and Vega-Cardona.

The third and final episode premiered Saturday, May 15, highlighting in-progress video clips of behind-the-scenes play production for "Reconstruction (Still Working but the Devil Might Be Inside)." Included was a Q&A session facilitated by The Broad Stage's Artistic and Executive Director Rob Bailis.

Bailis is committed to the arts. He believes The Broad Stage is a gateway into the future, and also sees it as a place for individuals to invest in themselves. REVEAL is The Broad Stage's latest investment into the future of the arts.
