On Friday, April 7, groups of protesters gathered in downtown Los Angeles to demonstrate against the United States’ recent preemptive strike against Syria. The attack, which occurred the night before, saw some 59 cruise missiles strike a Syrian air force base near the city of Homs.

Diabetes Alert Day Raises Awareness
Lakisha Snelling, a student at SMC, believes it is too soon to think about diabetes because she is only 19. “Maybe 10 years or 20 years from now, I would need to start doing something to prevent it,” she said.
Educational Budget Cuts
Santa Monica College students and staff can expect some changes in the near future when it comes to the school's budget. SMC President Dr. Kathryn Jeffery informed staff via email about potential budget cuts and on March 16 and confirmed the cuts were coming during a faculty flex day speech in front of the entire Santa Monica College staff.
