On Friday March 10 2017, hundreds of local activists took to the streets of Downtown Los Angeles to protest against against the newly-approved Dakota Access Pipeline.

On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, women gathered across the street from the Los Angeles City Hall for a rally held by The Women’s March foundation. The day was called “A Day Without a Woman.”

Guard dogs and tear gas. Water cannons and rubber bullets. Triumph gained and triumph lost. After eleven months of protesting against the location of the Dakota Access Pipeline, adversity is no stranger to The Standing Rock Water Protectors.

“Make America Great?” a film written and directed by Candice Vernon, was screened at the Cayton Center at Santa Monica College on February 23.
