Red Cross officials say donated blood is being shipped and used as fast as it is being gathered. “The blood supply is like a cell phone battery, it constantly needs recharging,” said Nick Gehrig, the communications director of Red Cross Blood Services.

Instead of filling their buckets with typical beach treasures such as shells, stones, or the occasional starfish, these shore hunters were filling them with cigarette filters, straws, and plastic bottle caps.

Efforts towards providing equal pay between genders were set back on August 28, 2017, when the Trump administration halted an Obama-era rule requiring businesses to report their employees' wages by gender, race, and ethnicity. The administration argued that the data collection requirement would be both "enormously burdensome" to companies and ineffective in addressing the gender wage gap.
